Fishermen throughout the UK have been working towards a voluntary certification that shows they are acting responsibly at sea.
The Responsible Fishing Scheme (RFS) has been developed to raise standards in the catching sector, enabling consumers to identify seafood that has been responsibly sourced.
RFS has developed a tagging scheme to provide guaranteed sea to plate traceability. This facility on the site can be used by anyone wishing to find out which vessel and skipper has caught their seafood.
We are trialling the tagging of seafood with 3 vessels within the scheme at the moment, to find out which one cause your seafood, choose the certificate number appearing on the tag from the drop down list and you will go through to the profile of that vessel.
