I have been fishing for over 8 years, working mainly crab & lobster pots. I sometimes use nets for Ray, Monk, Turbot, Bass and at certain times of the year go line fishing for Bass and Pollack. My son joined the vessel in 2008 straight from school.
We have both completed Seafish training courses and are both qualified as under 16.5m skippers.
Our fishing methods are very selective. We have one of the largest M.L.S. for Lobsters in the country and all egg carrying females are released or v notched. We also have escape gaps on our creels to enable juvenilles to exit.
We catch Spider Crabs from end of April - mid July most being sold to Spain.
